I am no way a vet supporter, I used to work for one and know thier money making scams so i now avoid them like the plague .
If septicemia in Turtles is anything like it is in humans then i dont think the first vet should be held responsible over not picking it up . Last year i nearly lost my other half to septicemia. Aparently he was 2 days from death but they could not treat him until they knew the exact strain as some treatments can make it more advanced. He spent 4 months in Hospital and is still on medication with really bad side effects and has to have blood tests weekly to make sure his blood is still cleaning its self up. I would not wish any little animal to go through what he is still going through now with just the medication side effects a year on nevermind the pain he was in last year. Sometimes things work out for the kinder in the animal world.

i'm so sorry to hear this hun hope your OH is ok and on the road to recovery. the vet has accepted all responsibility and has admitted to negligence (sp?) so he obviously feels that he could have done things better and picked up on it if only he had looked closer and done a blood test. i guess i just feel hard done to because i've lost my little baby. its not the easiest of things to come to terms with.
