It's one possible way, feeding raw chicks and pinkies would be another.

If fed as an occasional food, a chick( cut up into pieces suitable for the size of your turtle and with bones removed) should be OK.
The fluff and down on a chick would be consumed in nature however one chick
is going to last the average keeper for months!
Not you guys who have dozens obviously.
