I keep a dish of limestone flour (calcium carbonate) in with my Lepoards at all times, they just help themselves every now and then.

Grond, what do you mean when you refer to "pure calcium", is there a best brand?

Possibly a bad phrase to use, as 'pure calcium' is a fairly unstable metal!

All powders are calcium with 'something' usually calcium carbonate.

I've used calypso cricket dust, and currently use komodo brand.
I've found both to be fine.

Limestone rock is calcium carbonate with some mineral impurities. Limestone flour, is the rock ground up.

Therefore there's no real difference, between a commercial powder, and limestone flour, but you wouldn't want to use both.

Thanks for the clarification

I had seen some conflicting comments regarding other calcium salts (chloride, phosphate etc), and wondered if it was one of those you were using.
Will stick with limestone flour for now I think.

If it's quite fresh, it does smell slightly seaweedy/fishy!
