Default My Temp Setup for Musk

Hello guys, im setting my tank up now cos im getting tort 2moro afternoon. My Filter is coming tomoroow as is some duckweed and elodea (sp). at the moment i just have rocks and a bit of wood that i had for my lizard (washed). The storage thing im using is not the biggest. its 10inches high, 12 wide and 20.5 long. i will put pictures up asap, my batteries died so will have to do a quick charge.

I have a spot lamp, no basking spot just yet, hope to get some cork bark soon, although i have too fairly large flatter rocks stacked on top, but i dont feel this is high enough. i know musks are not the best swimmers and water should no be that high, but i need the water to be deep enough for it to swim/crwal a little but if i put the water in to cover the wood and the rest of the rounder rocks it will cover the two large rocks.

Any ideas on how i could maybe make the rocks be a bit taller? i was thinking of putting some of the smaller ones under it but i am afraid of the rocks moving somehow and the rocks falling on the little musk.

Here are the pics so far.

I cut up some wood and put it at the bottom of the rocks as you will see.
Remember this is only temp. I will have my UVB on 2moro, my heat lamp, my filter, some plants and eventually some cork bark oh and off course my Turt.

Just wondering how stable are the rocks/stones? Also what sort of wood did you use if its varnished or treated then it might "seep" something into the water?

I got the wood 2-3 years ago. Not varnished at all and does not seem treated as such., Its been in the water now for 4-5 hours and nothing colour wise has changed. i step it in boiling water too so any thing on it surely would have died.

Thats nice offer, but unfortunatley i live in belfast, and the petrol charge for that would be a little steep. hope you have better luck. Why you selling anyway?

I made our first basking area by having two large rocks, gap in the middle and a flat one across the top, providing they're heavy enough and you really need heavier rocks than in the picture they won't move. The other choise is to look at fish tank decor, I got some really nice big ones from freecycle.org, large enough to be out of the water and the turtles sat on them, if you haven't heard of freecycle its well worth having a look, we have just gotten rid of a 5 ft x 3 ft deep tank that we'd had for our tropical fish, that went to someone who keeps turtles, everything is FREE.

I actually sold it for £100 in the end complete with fish and external filters etc and the cabinet, the young man who brought does turtle rescue so the fish were going on somewhere else, he has very kindly said that should we need to rehome the turtles (due to our current situation) he will take them so he got himself a good deal and so did we. He has about a dozen tanks but none as big as the one we had, that was big took 4 people to move it empty. Freecycle is the best
