Hey i have a herman, and hes been on newspaper like all my other reps, but i feel hes not happy because he keeps burrowing under the paper. So am i going wrong with newspaper or do u recomend a better cost effective sub

Hi ya - he'd be a lot happier Im sure on top soil as a substrate or top soil with some playsand (70/30% ratio) This will give him something ti dig away at and into etc., and the most natural substrate you can get for him.

Have a look at the stickys at the top of the page for ideas on housing etc., and also the safe plant list to check his diet
