Default A decent salad bag?

Well i need your help guys and gals, it seems this year that my tortoise, a Hermans, is refusing to hibernate, at least for now anyway and so with the possibility of having to feed him throughout the winter id like to know of some good salad bags available from one of the major supermarkets.

I didnt expect him not to hibernate this year, as he usually is ok every other year and goes down no problem and so have chucked away all the varied weeds ive grown on for him to eat so will have to resort to these salad bags until i have chance to grow some more.

Thanks in advance peeps,

Danny.

He probably is not ready for hibernation yet, as temperatures for this time of the year, are very mild. And not really cold enough for them to really windown.
Give him another few weeks before giving it another go.
Feeding salad through the Winter is not a good idea, as its not healthy enough.

he always winds down this time of year, and has already wound himself down, its just that hes refusing to actually go to sleep this year, weve tried putting him into hibernation every week for around a month now.

Salad bags are my only option for now until i am able to grow on some more weeds, unless you have any other readily available food suggestions?

thank you sir, im going to trust the salad bags for now, as its really my only option.

shall pop to asda in a moment!

plus they cant be that bad, my grandma has a few friends who have had thier tortoises for around 40 years fed mainly on salad mixes with dandelions.

i juts choose to give them a varied weed diet without the salad bags, but until i get some more seeds they will have to do .

As you are off shopping a quick answer is the crispy florette mix is often used. As a very basic guide you want to avoid any mix with spinach or icerberg in.

Do have a look at the TTs winter feeding guide as well so you can vary the diet as much as possible.
