Depends on the listing. Some people list the bulb holder/starter unit with the bulbs, some just sell the bulbs. You'll get everything you need on ebay for a decent price, but if you buy from an online shop you have to get everything separate.

Don't feel guilty You're planning to get one asap. I know how awful it is to be skint when it's coming to bulb changing time! I just bargain hunt in a serious way when I have some 'spare' cash so I have a few in the cupboard. Although cash never seems to be spare in my life

Bt "connectors2 I assume you mean the end caps used on flourescent tubes?

Compact flourescent UVBs are much more effective than tubes, usually cheaper too, and all you need is a screw fit lampholder to mount them.

http://reptilekeeping.co.uk/exo-terr...88-p-1819.html

Any good? and does anyone know what fitting it fits into. E.g Fat screw bulb, thin screw bulb or click and twist type bulb? i know this is a bit confusing but thats the best way i can describe it.

Yep, that's the one. And it's a fat screw bulb

They don't give off enough heat to worry about.

Flourescents, whether tube or compact, only emit UV and very little heat, if you use either then you have to use it in conjunction with a spotlamp for heat.

The lamp you linked to is ideal, but the price isn't! Try eBay where you should find them a lot cheaper, I got some for under a tenner each including postage earlier this year.

I can testify to this. I have to peep around the door to catch Sheldon basking...it's only when he's in the Zen zone that he stays put.

You just have to keep your eye out for auctions starting low. You can get a clamp lamp cheaper on ebay on buy it now (if there are no auctions you want to have a go at just now) but you might need to pay the usual price this time, then you can bargain hunt for the next ones, when it's not so urgent. Have a good look online though, see if you can find them cheaper. Mind and consider postage costs though

£12 is okay, the usual shop price is about £20
