Always go for the biggest you have space for, as the tortoise will grow into it

Hi,

These Tables shown on the link you provided do look very nice quality, but they are far to small. There have been many good suggestions from people on here on how to get around the cost issue and alternatives.

I had very large tables made for my torties so much so that the spare room (oooops tort room) is now swamped by tables and just a bed.....no guest staying now yeahhhhhh

I do hope that you get what works for you space wise and Tort...post pics when you're set up.

Hi,

I have two Horsfields... they are just great.
What you have to take into consideration is the spare room you have. The bigger the better...I've got two larges tables for mine and I must say they need them. As I said before the spare room has been swamped by them

Bovril is the traveler he likes to explore and trash his table. Marmite is a lot more laid back and takes her time.
In the Summer they are outside in their enclosure.

The sticky at the top of the main page regarding tort tables is very very good, take a peek.
Decorating your table does not need to be costly...a few tort friendly plants (sticky on main page) Deep substrate about 11 inches or so deep 70% top soil (B&Q) and 30% play sand (Tesco or toys r us) terracotta pots (B&q) a piece of slate a few stones water dish etc uhhh rambling.

Horsfields love to dig and climb (well mine do) make sure the sides of your tabe are HIGH.
Take into account the substrate and the height of your pots/plants - and make sure there is some extra height that your tort won't be able to climb over. They are strong willed and will keep on trying.

I do hope this ramble helps....do keep posting your questions if you get stuck! there are loads of good people on here that will give you info

Post pics when you have your tortie and have fun building.

Great advice from Krista there for Horsfields. As big as you have space for (torty will use all the space, and you wont need an upgrade so soon) and as deep as you can, so very high sides needed! Horsfields need to be able to dig and tunnel.

Have fun
