Default Pets at Home Petition

I just had an interesting email saying that the PAH petition against them selling torts has resulted in them deciding to withdraw torts from sale! does anyone else have further information? this is what it says

Thank you for signing my petition asking the Pets at Home chain to withdraw tortoises from sale. Thanks to the actions of the Tortoise Trust Tortoise welfare group in the UK, I understand that Pets at Home have reviewed their policy and I am pleased to announce they have withdrawn tortoises from sale. I am therefore closing this petition.

I haven't heard a thing. Just done a google, and found the topic of PAH selling torts, and the petition, on loads of different forums though.

I wonder if it's true? I may have to phone my local PAH and ask if they have torts, to find out! Last time I was in there the guy was telling me they were starting to sell reps soon.

i was at my local PAH not even 2 weeks ago and no signs of any reps what so ever. In fact, with regards to rep keeping all they had was tortoise pellets, some pellet shaped bark substrate, thermometers/hyrdometers and nutrobol. They had nothing else it was all on one shelf

My local one sells toads and newts often. I go there if I'm close by (it's in Dundee) to get aquatic plants, cos theirs are always so healthy and grow like anything (in my experience) and are a good price.

Ages ago I got chatting to one of the staff while they were fishing out some snails for me, and he said they were in the process of getting approval to sell reps. Not been in for ages now though.
