Default Ohhhhhh wind down!!!

morning all

Apologies I've not been around - our internet/phoneline has been a little strange lately - we ended up with someone elses phone number for 5 days very confusing for us all!!!

Anyways here I am back with normal service resumed - well as normal as I get anyway How are you and all your little shelled friends then?
My little trio are giving me loads of guilt pangs at the moment Mr Harries is in his second week of frowning and grumpiness, sorry thats wind down to everyone else and little Theo & Mickey started theirs yesterday. I am now refusing to enter my bedroom whilst their lights are on as they make me feel far too guilty!!! Have you every tried bathing 3 tortoises without looking at them!!
Other than that nothing exciting to report really - a sad life I lead although I've been doing lots of baking lately yummmmm cakes, buns & muffins galore!!! So if you are bored pop round for a cuppa - am just gonna make a nice chocolate sponge and fill it with fresh cream lovely!!!

Hope you are all safe and surviving the miserable weather - we've had some trees down and our rivers getting higher and higher, which can be a little scary but we've not had to put up our flood gates yet thank goodness!!!

Must go bake a cake - catch you all later on - love to everyboyd xxx

Lol....Noddy and Matilda are now coming to the end of week 2 winding down in the greenhouse. Getting bathed every other day at the minute. They seem to spend most of their time basking under the ZooMed and they sure do look sad when they realise i havn't brought a big pile of dandelion leaves when i go in and say hello. Never realised their faces could be so expressive

Does me me feel really guilty though...

Default Winding down continued...

We are now approaching the end of week 3, i'm still feeling guilty over the plaintive looks i get when i pop in the greenhouse to see how they're doing. Quick question for the more experienced hibernators on here. Noddy is normally very regular with her "poos" which carried on every other day for the first week and a half but she hasnt had one for a week now. Presumably this is because she hasnt eaten anything for nearly three weeks? Matty has never been a regular "pooer" but she had one last friday so im not too worried. They have a warm bath every other day and still seem to be peeing, usually in the bath or just afterwards but im just slightly concerned about the "pooing" aspect

Pooing is not a problem once they have reached week three of windown. It means any poos to come shouldnt be from the stomach, they are in the intestines. They might even poo when in hibernation, this is not a problem, as I have said its from the intestines. Urination is if they do this in hibernation.

Mine are winding down now!

I only hibernate from the week before christmas. Extra baths compensate for the lack of food!

I need cake now..........
