Default new tortoise s shell

hi there i picked my baby girl up today and she is beautiful !!!

i have noticed that around where her legs are the shell is not curled but does not go straight down like the rest of her shell its more slanted, is this normal, or could it be because she has been fed the wrong diet, the lady i got her from said she feeds them on savoy cabbage, occasional sprout leaves, occassional aple etc. she said she has been bathing her twice weekly and has been using additional calcium powder.

i have a combi light, and neutrobal and clacium powder, i have bought some tortoise pellets as a back up just in case (i dont plan on using these) and also bought some savoy cabbage and sprouts?

is her shell normal?

Not the best diet she was on ,but i cant say anything as i was feeding my tort bad food before i came to this forum. Im not 100% sure about the shell, but im pretty sure cabbage and sprouts can stop the uptake of calcium although this may be not true. Get pics up for the experts to say, plus ive been looking forward to seeing your new friend and her enclosure

Hey lovely looking tort. The shell does seem a little curled (maybe just the photo) another member posted a pick of his Musk turtle where its shell has curled up around the edges ,maybe this is the start but dont take my Novice word for it. Look up that thread ,i think is titled whats happening and see for yourself.

Gorgeous by the way.

cos i cant grow weeds as im a dope ,i have bought mine floreete salad bag. It has things like endive and raddichio (sp) which i got from the winter feeding sticky at the top of the page. But its best to feed weeds if you can.

i have ordered the stuff to feed weeds but will be a few weeks before they are big enough to feed to her, i really hope her shell isnt going to deform i have looked at the other thread and its not like that, its just over her legs the rest of the shell is fine, its not curled just is slanted more than going straight down but now im worrying
