I can't believe someone could end up with a tort as an unwanted gift! What a silly thing to buy someone without them having said they definitely want it.
Some people have no clue. What's worse though, is that anyone in the world could NOT want a tort, especially after seeing it's grumpy little face

that happened to me, my parents gave me one without telling me and I had nothin to keep him in or anything :O its awfull experience so i dont blame them

my older sister has wanted a tort for years and so have i, but she knew nothing about them, when i was younger i asked her what they eat and the said lettuce n stuff, just veg n she said our grandad gave his bacon as a treat!
but as i wanted one too, and i didn't think her info was correct i did lots of research over the lest few years and waited, then this year i went out and bought me and my sister 2 herman tortoise, called herby after that film about the car called herby  and nina which means graceful little girl but as i know my sister very well and sometimes she says things and doesn'y mean them i had the sence to say hey look i wanted it to be a surprise but i've done my research and saved up my money do you want a tortoise, but you will have to help look after it and definetly NO BACON!!   and so i told her everything i know, yes i am still learning more every few days when on here but i love my torts to bits!  i feel ever so sorry for this lil tort. what  moronic people. yes i see the point of it's not their fault, they didn't ask for that responsability, it's whoever bought it with out making sure it had a good home waiting, their fault.
