Default Infra red emmiter

hello all,

we have 2 map turtles, there water temp is 22 deg but there basking area does not heat up that much they have a repti glow light for the UV-B and UV-A etc, but i what to try and get some heat in to the equation so i have been looking in to infra red emitters and a thermostatic control, what do you think i was thinking this way they could have the heat on over night

You don't need heat overnight as they sleep in the water, use an ordinary spotlamp for heat as they will also benefit from the extra light.

You don't need a stat, just set the temp to 32-35°C and check it once in a while.

That's excessive UVB/UVC light that causes conjunctivitis, ordinary visible spectrum light just helps to make them more active.

Just an ordinary household reflector spotbulb, 60w. Mount it in a clamp lamp directed on the basking area, and you're sorted. Cheap as chips
