not really advised to get a female - the males will then be more prone to fighting as they will fight over her and this could really stress her out

they are defo more likely to fight if there are more males and harldy n e females as they will fight for her hehe! If they are ok at the mo i wouldnt worry to much as long as the enclosure is big enough for them to get away from each other and if you do notice n e fighting just seperate them

I would suggest leaving them as they are. Don't add anymore torts into the group and they should, all being well, continue to live in harmony. They may have minor squabbles, but they will usually sort it out among themselves without much fuss. If these squabbles don't die down then you would need to look at seperating them.

Andrew, given that you have stated in another post that you hope your tortoises do not live past 50 yrs I would recommend you do not get anymore tortoises. Most tortoise keepers desperately hope their young tortoises live to 100 yrs and make provision for them in their wills. I have many tortoises ranging from 1 yr to my oldest girl who is 137 yrs. NONE of my oldies have been to the vets - it has been the viv, pellet fed tortoises I have rehomed that have spent time and a considerable amount of money at the vets. Tamie Your attitude has stunned me. |
