Default Eye infection?

Seen my tort clawing at his eye yesterday now he cant open it, pretty worried at moment as no idea what it could be, anyone else have this happen to there tortiose, giving it a few hours then hes going to the vet.

He is still eating ok but frightened its spreading to his other eye.

could it be something as simple as something in his eye? what substrate so you use? have you tried giving him a bath and gently running the water over his eye, might be worth trying.

Also if you have any, codliver oil capsules. One drop in his eye might help clear it. It wont do any harm. Also "artificial tears" eye drops from the chemist is worth a go too. But a vet will tell you whats wrong

Well i called the vets and he kindly gave me free advice over the phone, he said just bath him and rub his eye with water and dry of so i done this and he seems fine although after having a kip it does take him longer to open his left eye but when hopen hes fine, just going to keep a close eye on him over next few days, thanks for help and well wishes, nice bunch in here.

I have a bottle of cod liver oil that I apply with a cotton wool bud - just one wipe.
