and please also post a photo of how big they will get, there are still far to many people who have either no idea or are being told they will only get to be about 10-12inches. This one seems to be a very good example and was found by another member in relation to a new owner who has again been misled.

o0o0oh this picture is going to be overused and nto so a WOW factor but its needed to be shown non the less.

But yeah, posting that would be a good idea. Good Luck selling and at least you've made a starting attempt at telling potential buyers their size by saying the third biggest, maybe give example of their adult size though just to be sure.

I think it should be on the tanks in the shops that sell them with a big underline. I'd love to own one but although we have the space now we dont own our house and might have to move.

Impressive picture, I agree that this picture should be next to the tank in the pet shop, there was a simular one with a slider which should also be on the tanks imo.

it baffles me that these are stil bred so much, not having a dig at the OP by the way here hes well within his rights to do what he does.

It is just that we know in the UK that very few people can handle and care for something as large as sulcata's for life, maybe there needs to be limitations on them or something i dont know...

Probably bred because they lay so many eggs and it does help the keeper keep his/her electricity costs down.
Not that I encourage the selling of these beautiful animals, as most dont really know what they are taking on, or the amount of land and money you need to keep them as they should be kept.
Too many come up for rehoming when the light switches on in their heads.

And did you also know that a lot of shops still import sulcata hatchlings. When there is no need to as there are plenty of breeders in the uk, only reason is price if more people where to buy CB there would be no need to.Plus biying from breeders they would get the write advice

and did i know? Its kind of irrelevant to anything i said to be honest...

Like i said, i am not trying to down on you. Its just ashame that so many of these are sold as babies and unwanted as they hti juvie siize let alone adult.

regardless of whether they are CB or WC, they will still be dropped when they get too big.

PP i see your case with that, paying to keep them etc, if you cant pay the keep for a pet without having to breed them, consider something smaller? Could you imagine if all people worked that way, how many rehome terrapins b/c no money to upgrade tanks, if they bred to try and do so, theres 1000's turts about homeless, price to sell becomes 2-3 quid and noone is any better off.

Also Sulcata, not debating you dont give the right advice and in fact i said fair play to you for commenting on their size, but that doesn't matter really, what I am saying is you have over 60 eggs, they will be snapped up by people and in 8-9 years time or even less, they're being rehomed, it is just ashame. There isnt many average people who have the space money and willingness to spend both on tortoises as big as sulcata's in the UK it seems.
