Hmmm, I'd be a bit cautious, they can cause allergic reactions in humans. May not affect torts at all, of course, but...

I think they are a no no - I cant remember seeing them on any of the lists

ugh. typical, was in my local B n Q and saw box of primroses had been reduced, so i thought mmm i will see if my tortoises can have them, i did read evening primroses are ok, but i guess it sounds like these sort arent, oh well never mind, rather be safe than sorry, thanks guys

Checked out one of my herbal books () and it confirmed that in humans they can cause a kind of contact dermatitis- if the humans happen to be allergic. Again, I have no idea whether or how that applies to torts, but probably better to err on the side of caution. You can always get them some winter pansies!

Thanks hun, yeah funny enough i was looking at some winter pansies before i saw the primroses, ok back to BnQ tomorrow.

Is it ok to feed pansies and things from Garden centres? I just assumed they would have lots of pesticides and stuff on them? I have been tempted as I lost all my garden ones in the snow!

Leave them outside to 'weather' for a couple of weeks plus I always chuck away the first lot of flowers and that way they're clean
