what do you want to know? i keep pancakes and i find them as easy to keep as any other species. i feed mine on grass and greens like dandies etc. Hot spot of 33c for 13 hours a day and an ambient temp of 24c in the day and 20ish of a night. They love to climb and enjoy caves and bathing time.

Had a look in the reptile mag and it said they need to be kept in groups, about how big do the groups need to be also if your not sure you want to breed would it be ok to keep an all female group?

sure, they could be kept in an all female group. i would suggest a minimum of two be kept together, as they are the only social torts that we know of. In the wild they inhabit rocky outcrops called "kopjes" and the isolation of each outcrop means that they pretty much have to be communal. Its not like they can walk off as they would forgo their rocky protection......and as they have a soft shell it would mean they would be predated on withing minutes.

I keep three at the moment, one male and two females. They are a cool species to keep and as easy as hermanns.

I have a group 1.2 at the moment
5 adult females coming next week, should have been coming tomorrow

I did keep a female on her own as her partner died. She wasnt herself and didnt eat well, she hid all the time. Now ive introduced a male and female to her, she is more active and eats like a pig.

I agree with Ali best to keep as pairs
