Poor thing. Marie, how far away from there are you?

You are the queen of saving turtles

That's the problem that's seen so often, unfortunately. People buy baby turtles and can't/won't upgrade when necessary, so by the time they decide they have to rehome it, it's kept in pretty appalling conditions.

A lot of people are blown away by the cuteness, and simply don't realise what they're buying. Not helped by the wrong/omitted advice and info from a lot of shops, either.

I was in a popular independant aquatics shop near me one day buying some live plants, and someone was buying 5 (yes, 5) YBS. I commented loudly enough for everyone to hear that I hoped they knew the potential adult sizes, and I got the filthiest look from the girl serving them

I just replied to the ad 'politely' saying how discusted I was at the conditions the turtle had been kept him and strongly advised them to re-advertise the turtle-WITHOUT the tank-free to a good home.

Selling the turtle along with this equipment is only going to attract more inexperienced owners who haven't got a sh*ts clue of what they are doing.

This turtle deserves a proper home!
