I'm very lucky as I live in the countryside with lots of woods, fields etc and have access to weeds all year round. You have to look very hard and it's a real bitch when it snows.

In truth I have tried to give Avril a little cucumber, courgette and water cress but found that if I put any garden matter down she will only eat that and avoid shop-bought stuff.

When Avril arrived home four months ago she only weighed 19.8g so she is steadily gaining weight and has gotten bigger.

Ours won't touch water cress or cucumber they love courgette, rocket, lambs lettuce, grass and a de-skinned grape once a week, if we can find weeds we but the leves ontop of the courgette so they eat them first.

Hi

Ive kept stars for approx 7 years, and now my adults are breeding well.

From your initial post 1gr isnt an issue , but i was surprised to read that your tort was 19.8 at 4months . you seem to be feeding correctly and it is growing at a slow but steady pace

Ive hatched out 23 since june and the smallest was 11g but the rest were an average of18gr , quickly hitting 20gr, and in 2 months all were around or near30gr.

Dont panic this but leads me to question whether the age at purchase was correct ?

The main thing of course is that it is healthy and doing well .

regards Andy
