Default help where can i get alfagrog from

i rang my local dobbies to ask them if they stock alfagrog and the guy in the shop is like ermmmm nah doesnt ring anybells dunno what it is,,,, is there any other shops that stock it,, ive never used this filter media so i dont even know what the stuff looks like ,,, could it be sold under another name?

Dobbies definitely do, you must have been unfortunate enough to get the token clueless new guy! I get mine at the Dundee one. £13 for 15Kg.

You can get it online too, but delivery usually pushes the price up.

im up at dundee at the weekend so i may need to make a trip there to get some,,,, i tried putting it in the dobbies search engine and it didnt even come up there

That's weird. Does your Dobbies do all the pond stuff and the aquatics? If it does, they should surely have it

Try the Dundee one since you'll be there anyway though.

yeah it does coz thats where i got my pond filter from ,, the guy on fone was like ermm ive never heard of it,, maybe i need to make a trip up there and have a look and then if not ill try dundee at weekend

is it just called alfagrog or is there a brandname for it?

It's just called Alfagrog. It's in a thick plastic see through bag, and if I remember right 'Alfagrog' is on it in red.

The Dobbies website is awful! I've just got myself annoyed immensely, trying to find it! I know it might not be on the website, but why is there no 'pond maintenance' section?! According to their website, they sell all the pond filters, but nothing to put in them...hmmm. Stupid website.

It's sometimes sold in smaller quantities under an American brandname, at vastly inflated prices! I forget the name now, but you don't really want that anyway, any good Koi/pond centre should have Alfagrog.

Well i went up to dobbies and checked everywhere they have large bags thinking that well 15kg is quite alot lol checked the aquarium and pond sections and had a look around everywhere and our dobbies definatly doesnt sell alfagrog so i shall go to the one in dundee at weekend when im there and get a couple of bags while i continue my hunt round my area for it
