Exclamation Map Turtle and Musk Turtle Living Together in a 15 gallon for 5 more months?

Ok, I have a small misissipi map (1 and 1/2 inch) and a common musk turtle (1inch) living together in a 15 gallon tank. They are being upgraded to a 55 gallon in 5 months because it is my birthday. I was wondering with to get a 25 gallon for the map turtle to live in for those 5 months? (Bearing in mind I have no income, as I am 15.) An upside to purchasing the 25 gallon is that my common goldfish could move into it when teh turtles move. The 25 gallon (100 litre) is £89.99. Should I buy it or Wait?

That seems a bit expensive for a tank that size, which I think is about 4' x 12" x12". Pets at Home do the Clearseal tank for about half that price in about a 15" width. It can be bought without the lid (which is extra) which is what you want for turtles as they should not have a lid on their tank.

Also, have a look at eBay, Freecycle or car boot sales for tanks. They do come up fairly regularly especially large sized ones.

Or you could just buy a large plastic storage tub, or a plasterer's bath, either of which would solve your problem for a fraction of the cost.

You miss out on the side view, of course, but I have found a plasterer's bath to be very practicaL- as well as cheap!

I managed to purchase a 120 litre tank from a charity shop. Its in mint condition and came with a stand, bargain (: Will the Map Turtle be able to live in there for his whole life?

Also, my heatlamp has broken for the 3rd time in the row. I use an exoterra 120 w lamp, and use a 60 w reflector bulb. Am I missing anything? Why do they keep breaking.

THANX...

A 120 litre tank won't be big enough for an adult Map of either sex, if it's a female it could need one as much as four times that size, it might just be big enough for the Musk though, and if you're lucky the Map may turn out to be male in which case it won't need a huge tank.

As for the lighting, is the ExoTerra one a Mercury Vapour lamp? If it is then you shouldn't need the spotlamp as well as it provides both heat and UVB. What are you using to mount it? These bulbs are designed to be mounted vertically, if they're mounted at an angle that can shorten their life, and mounting it in a shade that's too small can cause overheating, I assume you're not trying to use it with a stat?

For The UV Bulb I am Using: D3 6% Reptile Lamp
For The Heat Clamp: I am using a Porcelain Clamp and Glow Light
For The Heat Bulb: I am using Cromptons 60W Bulb.

The reflector bulb keeps breaking.... I'm not sure if its the clamp or the bulbs?
