just pick up some wood and make a frame, very simple

but make the sides very high so you can make the substrate and deep, and so he cant escape!

the one on petzoo.co.uk is very expensive and It's must cheaper just to build one yourself.

Hi Sue

I agree, our tables are not as cheap as home made tortoise tables, and some of the poorer quality tables that I've seen on some other sites.

As you and many others know, making a tortoise table is a great way to save money, anything you can make yourself is likely to be cheaper than paying somebody else to make it, in the same way a computer whizz will fix his own PC rather than taking it to PC World.

Newtort: photos of other people's tables are great for inspiration, this article may help you with the practicalities of building one:

Tortoise Trust Web - Building a Tortoise Table

About the donations, the last I heard was that Andy was looking into it. We haven't made the donations yet, you'll notice from the product page that it doesn't say that the donation will be made straight away after each sale - writing a lot of £2.50 cheques is a bit of an uneccessary *****istrative burden. We'll be making a donation when we have a worthwhile amount.

Through our tortoise tables and particularly our tortoise setups we have managed to increase awareness of the tortoise trust, and have created many TT memberships that may not have happened otherwise (the Pet Zoo Tortoise Table Complete Setup comes with TT membership), and while we still have improvements to make to our tables and our setups, it is one thing that we are very proud of.
