Default Dwarf Shrimp

Hi just had a quick google and dwarf shrimp just seem to be small shrimp so yeah i'd say they're fine for turtles, as they're freshwater aquarium shrimp. Got the info from an american turtle forum and someone put this link on;

Frequently Asked Questions about Shrimp

Thinking of getting shrimp instead of fish myself when i get a bigger tank, they wouldn't last long at all in the one I've got now.

Hiya thanks for the info, I fed the turt and she seemed entertained by the challenge, nice to see her “hunting“ for her food.

I keep shrimp at the moment in a very small tank about 8 gallons, hoping to start breeding them ( cherry shrimp) as its food for the turtle, and just something to do. Just need to get some males and I'm ready to go.

They are ok as treats, but one of the 'complete' pellet foods should be the staple. I sometimes buy and freeze a portion of cooked shrimp and defrost a handfull to give my turtles some variety.

Yes they should only be fed as a treat a good pellet should be the staple, prawns along with various othe fish contain an enzyme called thiasimine. Google it.
