Default infared or just red for royals?

im sure ive read sumwhere its an infrared bulb u use 4 royals etc? or is it just an ordinary red bulb if using it as a constant heat source? i have a 40 watt ordinary bulb on a dimming thermostat at the mo so want 2 know what 2 change it 4?

well, infrared is undetectable for reps they cant see it but they can however see normal household red buls so if this is to be permanent heat source it will mean ur rep will constantly see red light, also a household bulb wouldnt provide a good enough stand alone heat source are you using a heat mat aswell?

sorry went 2 bed!! no heat mat just a 40 watt light bulb so infrared would be best then? it would give the least confussion n disturbance to the snakes ?

We are using a 60 watt standard spot bulb and a heat-mat for our royals, this is what we were advised when we bought them.
