iv seen a few care sheets for these snakes but they are all different
i bought a book the other day and thought id type the basics up. this may be wrong but its from the book i have and not my personal opinion as i havent kept these snakes (yet) ![]() origins: new jersey to florida keys, west to kansas and texas, some parts of mexico habitats in wild: this snake is semi arboreal and climbs along small trees as bushes, it is found in wooded medows and among vegetation over hanging water size: total length of 33" ish, record for this species is 45". hatchlings range from 6-9" life span: not longer than 6 years in captivity, not a longlived species. the vivarium specs: mimimum 20 gal, all glass viv with screen top. exo terra type. pea gravel substrate 2" deep , false bottom tank with pump for ease of cleaning water. lots of plants and branches making use of vertical tank space, cork hides on bottom of viv large shallow water dish. viv should be misted each day as these snakes like to drink from leaves. heating: 21-26 c are adequate as long as basking area is provided, basking spot should be 26-30 c lighting: fullspectrum bulb is needed for uv etc diet: gutloaded crickets half the diameter of the snakes body dusted with calcium mineral/vitamin powder. feed 3 times a week @least, only give 3-5 crickets a time
