Default Substrate query

I have always kep my corns on Aspen and have no thought of changing that as it works for me. I was asked the other day whether play sand could be used for snakes as they were thinking of the burrowing possibilities. I didn't think it was recommended, am I right in that?
Thanks

i think play sand should only realli be used with natural sand dwelling snakes like ksb because the sand gets under scales of non sand dwelling snakes and causes irriation,
i remember reading that somwhere i may be wrong tho
