I just think everyone can go a little over the top sometimes, they can give you an uncomfortable time perhaps sure, but dangerous... perhaps we just have different perceptions of what the word means.

I do understand what your saying, and i wouldnt like to argue. However saying they are 'not dangerous' is probably not a good idea... if a child (or 16 year old shall we say) went into a pet shop and bought one - could the snake harm that child? Possibly. If an elderly person, young person or someone with a bad heart received a feeding response bite - could they be seriously harmed?

The honest answer is we dont know. What we DO know is that they ARE venomous, and ARE of the same genus of a snake that used to be classed as a Dangerous Wild Animal (not that that means jack sh*t in this country...) and in my opinion its best not to find out just how dangerous they are/may be, and its certainly not good to encourage inexperienced people to believe they are harmless.

It's a healthy debate is all

This is true & please don't think I am saying everyone should go & get one, apart from the biting they are abit of a pain to keep!

Hes such a picky b*$£&$d, he seems to go in 2-3 month cycles. Very occasionally he will take rats/mice on their own. Sometimes he will only have chicks on his own. Sometimes he will eat rats in chick skins. Hes had egg yolk, chicken soup, chicken broth, lizard skin, frog scented, salmon paste, crab paste, seafood sticks - you name it, ive scented his food with it. Any one of the above methods works brilliantly for 2-3 months then he will just get bored and stop eating that one - so i have to try something new again.

Boigas = pain in the ***

.... love them though

Has anyone tried thai fish sauce (nahm pla) for scenting? It's made from salty fish, and is THE most pungent stuff you are ever likely to subject your nostrils to.
