My sister has a corn snake she has had it for 3 months and it has eaten once, when it moved into the tank.
This was when she first had the snake, he is now in a small rub that is 10" by 7".
The temps and everything are fine humidity is fine but he just wont eat.
The pinkies are no bigger than the widest point of his head.
The mice are always heated up to room tempreture and just above to make sure they are ready for him. He is not being handled at all at the moment.
He is on kitchen towl, with one hide at the hot end and one hide at the cold end, only one tree in the corner of the hot end.
The temps are 85F at the hot end and 75 at the cold end.
It appears that a cupple of times it looks like he has tried to eat the pinkies but had to spit them back out. He was on the straw like substrate and i have felt him all the way down his body and there does not feel like he has swolled any and there is no hard bits so i dont think there is impactation.
Any advice about what eles we can do to help him eat, we have tried:
- Small pinkies, the smallest in the shop.
- Cutting the pinkies in half lengh ways to they are thin.
- Cutting the pinkes skull to bring the brain juices out for him to smell.
- Putting the pinkie in tuna juice.
Thanks
