I think you need to learn all about your corn and royal fiirst
are you people serious?? You are flaming me for very simple misjudgements which I already admitted that I wasn't paying attention to. It's great that you royals eat from pet shops but mine, my old teachers, and everyone else I know that got one from a pet shop doesn't eat. Maybe you should read my replies before just hitting 'reply' and flaming someone

so on your experience of 1, no one should ever buy a royal from a pet shop? Well I am happy to report that the royal in our pet shop feeds very well.

I agree with Blackecho, a beginner writting beginner guides is never a good idea.

Thou shalt not speak as though from experience if thou hast not the experience from which to speak.

There are some milk snake species that are equivalent in size to bullsnakes - there are six-foot-plus Black Milksnakes, for example.

Nobody is *flaming* you (that would involve swearing!) but we are saying that you shouldn't write a beginner's guide unless you PERSONALLY have experience of multiple animals of the same species. Saying you "weren't paying attention" is NOT an excuse - if you're not paying attention, don't write the guide. Read and reread what you're writing before you post it if there's a chance that someone less experienced than you will read it - make sure the information is accurate, factual and that opinions/personal experience are presented as such rather than as absolute fact.

For example, someone who bought a live-feeding royal from a breeder may have more trouble feeding it than if they bought a defrost-feeding royal from a shop...

Just wanted to say, only recently joined, many years ago had a common water dragon. Just read up on this as i recently got a corn snake and this has been more then helpful! I've spent WEEKS searching for decent care sheets etc etc.

Though i still have one problem with her, i'm feeding her twice a week, and her head is still tiny, her body is growing but her head still remains smaller then my little finger.
I'm not overly worried just a little concerned as to if this is normal. I got her through a college friend, but i didn't ask her incase i was sounding over panic'd without good reason.

Thanks

Twice a week may be slightly excessive in terms of feeding - I only feed hatchlings once every five to seven days.

How big is she? An 18-monther can be anywhere from 18-25" but that would at least give us an idea of how big she is. Anyway if she is anywhere over 15" is too much, once a week is PLENTY no worries.

I found the info contained overall very helpful, thanks for taking the time to post it up.
I am researching as much as poss about getting a carpet python, but read through all of those links and info to help get a good overall knowledge.

I know very little on this subject which is why i am reading up on as much as i can.
It does seem a shame that people are quick to jump on someone who has bothered to take the time to help out.
