Our relative humidity is fine for Kings, especially the getula complex. Pyros and Zonatas sometimes need different humidity as they are mountian range snakes and also thrive better in lower temperature ranges as well. The getulas are the easiest to look after and the best feeders. The Pyros and Zonatas can be bit fussier and are known to go off prey items for months at a time.

All in all a good care sheet but quite general to all Lampropletis especially Getulas

p.s. its a good idea to up the humidity to around seventy% when your King is shedding. This will help enable a complete shed

Really good care sheet. I have a hatchling pyro and canot get him to eat at the moment. Is it right that they need cooler temps than other kings? I have him at 80F in warm end and low 70s cool. Is that right? Maybe he is too cool?

Also any idea where I can get "lizard maker"? might give t a go if - worried little snake will waste away....

one thing you forgot, its a bit obvious, but kings are CANNIBALS, so dont home them together or 2 kings will become one chubber lol

In the care sheet you talk about the temperature, is this the temperature of the air or the substrate? Currently the air in my cali's tank is 22.9 C, while the substrate is 26.5 C, to touch he is warmer than my hands (although I do always have cold hands, so really that's no help).
Any help would be great, as I've spent the last 40 mins googling and can't find a definite answer. Thanks

What heating method are you using?.. If you're using a mat then the substrate temperature is what matters, If your using a bulb then the air temperature matters.
