Default Uk bred CORN snakes savings and payment scheme

After recent discussions, We are pleased to announce our plan for a savings scheme for forum members to save and buy corns.
In this case, the 'we' is myself 'cornmorphs' (Nigel), paulc (paul chase), paul dougal and jenny (bloodcorn).
In the last few years, some of us have been asked on occasions if we would do a payment plan in order to sell corns.
We have been thinking about this for sometime now, and with the economy hitting people hard, it makes sense to go ahead with the idea.
The corns for sale will all belong to and be bred by the four people named above, ALL will be uk produced, and in all cases you should be able to see both parents.
Along with this, you will be able to choose a snake from a clutch, feed and shed sheets, weights where taken, and het details will all be provided.
Prices will of course will be competative and in a lot of cases as cheap as imports (when fees added).
The way it will work is simple.. we will provide a full list of what we are breeding. This will be as comprehensive as possible, showing what hatchlings we expect from each pairing, but will be updated nearer the time once the snakes start hatching.
So, WHAT do you have to do? well, pay a weekly or monthly amount which you will be able to spend on whichever corn snakes you wish from the list.
There is little risk (if the bank closes and the govenment refuse to pay out min of 50k as they have said, thats the only risk and thats not likely), to avoid too many extra bookings, we will take only 10 orders per clutch i.e if we had a clutch of lavenders we would not take orders for more than 10 snakes until we knew for certain how many there were in the clutch . If the snakes do not produce, you simply get all your money back, and the same if the clutch is a very small one and we cannot fullfill your requests.
Orders will be taken in the order they are received, so say 'person 1' orders 8 snakes, we will make sure this order is complete before moving to the next order.
Payments will go straight from your account to cornmorphs account via a transfer, postal order or cheque or even paypal, although you will be required to pay fees via this method which currently run around 3.4%. You will be updated with emails of confirmation of the amount we are holding each time there is a new payment made.
Most of the snakes here are from the biggest named breeders in the USA, so very good stock.
There will be the opportunity of delivery to all mainland areas in the UK, this will be done via one of the reptile delivery companies from this forum, or maybe those involved.
It is anticipated that each delivery would be no more than 30 pounds, whatever size the order.
There is only one clause in this, your 1st payment must be 25 pounds at least. This will count as a non refundable deposit (unless we cannot provide any of the required snakes), anymore than 25 pounds is returnable for the right circumstance.
ALL snakes sold come with the usual gaurentees, all snakes will be feeding on defrosted pinks and will have shed at least once, along with being in perfect health.
Please think carefully on this as once you have paid the deposit it will not be returned.
Make sure you read all of this twice to be certain you understand, we wish to help out people, but at the same time are not looking to be messed about.
All questions will be answered, as we are bound to have forgot some details.
This will run between the four people named above and the sellers, no one else, bank, rfuk or anyone else will be involved, all monies will be held by Nigel in a special set up account.
Thankyou for taking the time to read, and enjoy the list.

The list will be available over the weekend from all four breeders.

Nigel

Please note, this is for next year only.. The current sales list I have (cornmorphs) at the moment is nothing to do with this one, there is no payment plan for those snakes.

Great idea.

To make sure I understood. The idea is that the customer has kind of a savings account with you for next years hatchlings?

So they start paying very soon and by the time the snakes are ready they will have saved enough in there snake fund account with you to pay for there desired hatchling.

well we need to discuess the prices, but our plan is to be as cheap as we can and compete with the lower end of the market in the uk.
as a rough guide, without any rarer hets being taken into account, we are looking at maybe a tenner for normals, amels, anery, snows all under 20 quid, butters 30-35, lavs wont be more than 50.. those kind of prices.
they should be similar to the prices of the US market once the import costs have been taken into account, so in other words if a butter motley was $100, then with fees it may be $120, call that £65 or so, we would do it for maybe £60..
but we will need to have a chat.. i will say tho, you wont be disapointed in the prices, and for a small amount per week you really can get top end morphs too.
there should be plasma, lavender stripe, opal stripes, then maybe middle of the road stuff, butter motleys, pewter, various bloods..
there iwll also be some fantastic hets for projects, for instance het cinder z.. these could cost you a grand a pair last year, they wont do here.

Ok, the thread has been tidied up a little.
You can now see the lists of cornmorphs, jenny bloodcorn and paul chase on the front page, paul dougals list is expected shortly (hes busy at work, so we'll give him time).
Where I have answered questions on prices, they will be adhered to..
so far we have a few that i have mentioned, but the full list will be there in the new year at the latest i reckon.

but a few ideas here after requests.

The price will not be MORE than these:-
butter motleys, £65
lavender stripe £250
lavender £50
butters £35
amels, anery and snows all no more than 20
normals a tenner
blizzards £40
thats just a few examples.. but you can gaurentee the prices will be very good for the buyer.

any with rarer hets may well be a touch more

well compaitibility wise, snow goes better with anery than caramel. you would get all anery stripes het snow, unless the anery was het amel in which case you would get a few snow stripes aswell.
caramel stripe to anery would give you stripes het for caramel and anery, so not a marvelous mix.
caramels now are very cheap, 20-40 quid, stripes, this years i have a couple of females under £100, i expect next years prices to be £80-85 for caramel stripes.
if you want a nice long term project, and it may be one i look into myself, go for caramel snow stripes.. i have caramel snows, and they really are something else.

A couple of questions Nige. What happens if I want to save but don't really know what I want, can I make my mind up next year? Does this scheme mean you will not have any snakies for the 'open' market next year?

How much for a female amel stripe het caramel?

hi mate, yes you could happily pay here and there, set up an account and just choose snakes at a later date.
There will be, i anticipate, as many as 1000 hatchlings in this scheme, depending on how this goes really to if we all sell on the open market. my guess is, we probably still will.
amel stripe het caramel, i would think you will be looking as little as £40.
the prices will all be cheap, simply because as breeders we want to breed, buty to make the hobby pay for itself,so if we do things cheap, then we dont keep snakes for too long (getting them off the food bill so to speak) and you guys get bargains.
i would think, if someone was to spend a few thousand, we would create an extra financial incentive, extra free snakes, or a % off the total maybe.

The last time i shipped to NI the cost was about £75, so i expect it may be more, but then again if you were to get higher end morphs, you may well save quite alot of money that end, or if you spent enough its possible the fee could be reduced.
