I think it will be ok tbh as its not long term, charli gets sprayed every couple of days as the humidity stays quite high, im using coconut stuff for her and found it very good.

Scamp my royal is on Orchard bark in his viv but im going to change him to the coconut stuff soon!

I agree with Mush, depending on the ventilation the humidity often stays pretty high I've found. I've only had to spray my Rub once a day max. Put a water bowl in/partially in the warm end and that will help also

I don't know anything about BRB and their humidity requirements, if it's keeping humidity up your asking about. I own BCI's, which require about 40 - 60% humidity. I maintain this by the positioning of the water bowl in the vivarium/ tub. Obviusly the nearer the warm end, the more evaporation and more humidity. personally, i've never really had to spray. You could try this to see if it helps.

When I had royals, I used several different substrates:

1. newspaper - which I personally found a pain, especially when I checked on them at 1am if I woke up during the night. Found them laying in pee, so was cleaning out at silly o'clock.

2. Orchid bark - I had real trouble lowering the humidity, rather than raising it. Also, I had a dodgy batch once, which I found bugs in. Luckily before I put it in the enclosure.

3. Aspen - Was okay.

My personal favourite - Aubiose Aubiose Ltd | The Natural Alternative Horse bedding, the orignal hemp bedding It's an equine hemp bedding, but is fantastic. It's not pine or cedar, highly absorbant, non smelling, humidity is eaily maintained and as its hemp, should any bits be swallowed, it breaks down inside the snake. A massive bale costs £7.00. I know loads of people who use it. I bought a bale of it last September time, and i'm just halfway through.

Hi all,

Just make him/her a humid hide out of a plastic box and put moss in then you only need to spray a little every couple of days, also get a hygrometer it will give you a better guide as to when to spray.
Give it a water tub it can soak in as they like to soak.
Don't have your temps to high as they don't like it.
