Default Please help the survival of the Jamaican Boa

I have just come across this petition which some of you may care to sign.

This was posted on another forum:-

"The Cockpit Country is one of the last strongholds, not only of the Jamaican boa, but of approximately another 1500 endemic species!!! Two months ago the Jamaican government gave a prospecting mining license to a private company. If this project is realized, a large ecosystem of limited internal fragmentation and its own microclimate will be destroyed, along with the beauty it accommodates. You find find more information at:

Home page Cockpit Country Stakeholders Group

A group of local scientists and numerous Jamaican citizens are fighting against this decision. In order to achieve their goal, they need the help of as many people as possible from around the world!"

Please help by signing their petition. It's in the left hand column.

One of my Jamaican boas (Epicrates Subflavus)

Come on they aren't that bad. My female doesn't musk at all and 1 of the males only does it once in a blue moon otherwise they are very gentle.

The musking wasn't the problem, it's that they sat at the top of a heavily planted enclosure and when they did biggi's it rained over everything, which muggin's here has to clean and polish every leaf, as they were on display and all!!!

In a home environment I wouldn't have that many plants so it wouldn't bother me and you probably havn't noticed.

The irridescence on this species is phenominal!
