Nah you just make your own paperwork basically which is why i'm never fussed on it and only buy my hets when i do from people i trust such as CPR, Scott W etc but i don't see what paperwork PROVES, i cud take a pic of my pied, pic of a male and some baby pics and flog em off as het - nobody would know till many years later as it can take multiple goes for hets like you say.
I don't intend to do paperwork for hets as i don't see the point but i know i wouldn't lie about what i've bred either but i guess it comes down to trust. Rachel |

I agree with the above...

![]() If I was buying a pair of het hatchlings, I'd want to buy them from someone I trust. Really, the paperwork is sort of irrelevant, but nice to have. But if see a pair of adult hets that I quite fancy, then the paperwork becomes important. I'd be happy to buy from xxRandomPerson6xx on the classifieds as long as they still have the Reputable Breeder's paperwork, so I can check with Reputable Breeder that this is definitely one of their snakes.

From a reputable breeder yes as you can always go on their word and reputation, but from joe bloggs, it must be very hard for those looking for a cheap way into getting a morph.
I guess its one of those risks that we take in life.

Yeah, and if it isn't a het go round and take a visual from his collection...

There are only so many breeders of certain morphs though. Example, even if you weren't buying direct from CPR, if it had CPR paperwork, the seller should be happy to give you permission to give CPR a ring and verify any details... they may also have an original receipt, or email copies etc. from the shop / breeder which would go towards verifying the paperwork.
It is easy to fake, but it's not that easy to fake it from a reliable breeder who can be called up and checked. Of course this only works if the seller got it direct from the breeder/shop. If the seller got it from Person A who got it from Person B who got it from the breeder... then the animal could very easily be a different one to the one originally sold, or the paperwork handed on a fake without the person you're dealing with realising. I would consider dealing with an unknown person on an ad, but only if they had bought direct from the breeder... not if there was a chain of owners that couldn't be directly traced. Just buy wisely I suppose, but there is always an element of risk with buying hets.
