............And Now........

What we have ALL been waiting for..........

The Pre-lay sulk:

God, I hoped that she was carrying eggs because she simply refused to eat & my fingers were painful with crossing them all the time!

This species is not for the novice keeper.

Nor do they reproduce with gusto, therefore, this rather explains the reason for the 'price tag'.

I am reliably informed that it is usual to have around 3 eggs in a clutch & perhaps, if lucky, 4 eggs will be produced.

This lady produced 1 infertile egg two days post pre-lay slough.

hmmm........that leaves around 2 - 3 eggs then?

Thank you Mason,

Our initial intent was just to own this beautiful species, however, after many years (i.e. five) we considered the possiblity of breeding.

To obtain a pair is hard enough, but, try to purchase a single female!

Finally, a hatchling was obtained & then a further 5 years until she matured.

So, this is an excellent result for a 1st attempt.......all things considered!

Cheers Toyah,

These guys were produced a few days ago & I am still overjoyed with the results.

Now begins the WAIT........

Not an easy species, therefore, I expect to spend a long period of time on these guys.

Thanks for your best wishes.
