Smile A quick question about importing corns, milks, royals

hi all,

As said in the above I was wondering if their is any issues with importing these snakes in from France I know they will have to have a proper travel container and be stored correctly so the question is can I just bring them over in my car and just say at customs that I have live animals on bored or do I need to give them notice and do the snakes need to be quarantined if so how long?

Many thanks

Brian

Lots of keepers from RFUK regularly travel to HAMM in Germany for the reptile fair. Bringing snakes back is no problem as long as you declare what species you are bringing (latin names). Any CITES listed animals need the appropriate paperwork, which should be supplied by the seller, but I'm not sure about DWA. Most carry the snakes in tubs or bags, which are themselves carried in a polysterene box for insulation purposes. Quarantine is not necessary for snakes.

I'm sure if I've missed anything, others will tell you.

There's no hassle with bringing things back from in Europe, it's only if you're bringing them in from the US/Canada you need to worry so in short yep, go buy some snakes, load em up and come home. If they are listed as said you'll need papers but it depends where they're listed etc though snakes requiring papers e.g. dumerils boas are normally sold with them and chipped whereas royals i've never known anyone to have papers with.
