technically bathing is a very good way to get rid of mites, it's just very labour intensive.

Not sure if i have miss-read the OP though

for how long? did he say?

i was going to buy a burm off somebody on this forum... i got there too late and the bloke had sold the snake and full setup to dunston aquatics for 100 quid... I rang dunston and asked if i could buy the full setup off them the same day.... he said "if you can come through for it today you can have it for 250 quid!!!

i couldnt believe it... i know theyve gotta make a living, but 150 quid in 1 day is just a rip off IMO

I use frontline for mine, but avoid contact with head/mouth, remember frontline is very strong and can easily kill the snake if not done carefully.
After first going over put snake in a different clean viv, preferably a rub or faunarium(being plastic are really easy to disinfect after use).
While snake is out of viv give the viv a serious going over with the frontline making sure all the corners and crevices are done especially.

I then left both alone for 7 - 10 days then did both the snake and viv again (this will account for the life cycle of the mites and any eggs that may have hatched since the first going over.

I then left again for the 7-10 days again, gave the snake one last going over, fully rinsed the viv to ensure no frontline was left behind and put the snake back in it's original viv.

I threw all the original bark/hides and substrate out, easier to replace with new clean uncontaminated viv furniture than risk putting anything back in that may have some eggs hiding away in the many crevices that bark etc has!
Oh, and make sure you leave the viv completely open so that all the frontline vapour can disperse.

Hope this helps,

Since doing this I have never had a reoccurence (touch wood)
