Aye ideally but personally I would rather people could get advice whenever without fear of flaming.

After all, the good of the animal is forefront in all this.....

I do think people should research before getting any animal however a lot of learning is done as you go along and sometimes people may research but lose some confidence and ask questions to back up their thoughts.

suppose it is better than not asking or finding anything about the animals needs. you're right though, some research should be done before keeping an animal.

there are a lot of people who will immediately jump on someone if they dont know every single thing but then don't provide the answer. I agree it is best if they ask all the questions first, but some snakes are hard to get hold of and sometimes people do buy them and ask the relevant questions while snake is on the way. I think aslong as they are asking questions then there is some common sense there and I'd rather see actual answers than flaming TBH.

Just noticed a thread about false water cobras, be interesting to see how many people tell the guy he should have read up first but never really answer the question.

As I bought my royal first and then looked into answers to questions (via books, though), I can only be understanding . Needless to say that I am now doing the research before, my Cookie (the royal) was purrrrfect for a first snake, but when you read on all the things that can be/go wrong, you realise that you don't want to make that mistake again.

And what would this forum be like without questions?

So is it bad that i had to ask what a hard solid lump at the end of my royal pythons tail was. Don't think so. There was nothing about uric acid balls in a book.

What I really like about this forum is that MOST OF THE TIME, people on it are open-minded and helpful. We all have to learn from each other... so peace people .

So why can't people keep posts like this to themselves, if you can't handle it, don't log on.
