He's 4 years old and has been a fantastic feeder in the past...fasts every year november to march and then has a gerbil which starts him off again.
However, this year he hasn't started eating yet and now it's almost 10 months. I've tried every trick in the book...followed advice from people on here and done everything that's in the stickies. Me and Mush assist fed him once but he won't even take an assisted one now and i don't want to stress him out any more. It's breaking my heart keep seeing him refuse and tomorrow i'm going to try a live one. What i'd really like to know is wether there's anyone here that would be willing to take him on...someone with experience of awkward royals. I'm asking now because before long it'll be november and the whole cycle will just start again. If he doesn't take the live one tomorrow then i can't think of anything else to try. He's our family pet and we love him but i'd rather see him go to someone that can get him feeding again than watch him waste away. I'm in Rochdale but i'd be willing to travel to take him to the right person. Anyone out there fancy a challenge? Tina. |

hmmm this is difficult,
i really wouldnt do a live feed without having taken him to the vets first. obviously you will already know that feeding live without a vets agreement and cert that you have no other option could mean you are prosecuted for it. have you tried a brained warm prekilled rat? i certainly would take him on but ive no spare vivs atm.

Sorry don't know anything about this but couldn't he go into the vets for assist feed/force feed rather than having to give him away.
