Imagine a 60watt bulb. Very hot to the touch, but not immediate burning heat. Now imagine that bulb, which is just 2.5 inches in diameter, spread over four square foot, the heat becomes very weak indeed.

I'll take video of doing spot readings - point, click, where the thermometer readout is always visible in the video screen. Heat mat, refrigerator, my hand, that sort of thing.
You obviously don't understand how an infrared thermometer works - it can't be "heated up beforehand" because it takes an INSTANT reading of what it's pointed at. |
