Question Feeding tips.

Hi everyone. When feeding my Boa ,what would you do to keep him from swallowing substrate. Short of completely moving everything in his viv prior to feeding him which is going to upset him i don't know what is best.

Either change the substrate to something like newspaper or (maybe depending on the size of the boa) feed in a tub outside of the viv.

you could put him in a diff rub when feeding him, or you could put his food on a peice of card in his own viv? Or change the substrate x

Default Feeding tips.2

Boa is 6' so tub is not really viable, and call me fussy but i dont fancy newspaper. I want to try to keep the viv looking as natural as possible with branches, rock, etc.

Put tissue down first, that's what I do with my Burm then place the food ontop on the tissue.

I keep a little corn snake rather than a boa. I like to put his meal on top of the log or on top of the cave hide. This seems to work and stops the substrate sticking to it. Once when I used a bit of brown paper, he just went under the food. He may have just been in the mood for ignoring it and not hungry. Fiona.

why not just give him a plate and a knife and fork? For heavens sake its a snake, swallowing a bit of substrate ain't gonna will it, what do you think they do in the wild.

My two BCC's (4' each) tub feed but if they're being awkward I let them strike for it while sat under a hide then turn the hide over and place them on it. Mollycoddling I'm sure
