Hi everyone. When feeding my Boa ,what would you do to keep him from swallowing substrate. Short of completely moving everything in his viv prior to feeding him which is going to upset him i don't know what is best.

I keep a little corn snake rather than a boa. I like to put his meal on top of the log or on top of the cave hide. This seems to work and stops the substrate sticking to it. Once when I used a bit of brown paper, he just went under the food. He may have just been in the mood for ignoring it and not hungry. Fiona.

why not just give him a plate and a knife and fork? For heavens sake its a snake, swallowing a bit of substrate ain't gonna will it, what do you think they do in the wild.

My two BCC's (4' each) tub feed but if they're being awkward I let them strike for it while sat under a hide then turn the hide over and place them on it. Mollycoddling I'm sure
