hi im thinking about opening a reptile shop and just wanted to know how much a pet shop licence would cost

it depends on your local council, then you may have to pay vets fees and you will need a qualification as well not entirely sure what the qualification is but I remember Athraven saying about it.

you need to be studying or have got a qualification in animal management(2 year course) or have someone working in the shop that has it (i think), ask your council to send you the details and theyll send you everything you need to do. We were looking into it a few weeks ago

My county is £290 for the license and the qualification is Pet Store Management (run by the Pet Care Trust) which you do not have to be completed but must be enrolled upon with the intention of completing within 2 years. It's about £250-300 for the course if I remember correctly, I did it a few years ago though so can't remember exactly. Info is on the pet care trust website for that.

The PSL actual cost can vary from £50 to £500 from what I've seen, bigger cities tend to have bigger prices but there's not actually any set rules so basically they charge what they want!
