Default Cross breeding endangered species

I'm soon to be getting a pair of Hogg Island Boa's and whilst doing my research i found out that they were believed to be extinct for 20 years until a few were seen, now they are endangered, also whilst reading around i found out that people breed hoggs with other boas such as redtails to make even nicer snakes, given that they are endangered and cross breeding will make true hoggs even harder to find, do you think there should be soe sort of law banning this?

i know there are more, but they arent like corns or royals, and if people cross breed repeatedly the numbers in captivity will dwindle

So where's the problem then? The hobby is big enough to cater for both pure species breeders and those that prefer to breed hybrids/morphs etc. Given that all captive breeding is a wholly unnatural thing to do neither should be seen as innately superior to the other...

If they want to breed pure hogg's then that's fine, and if they want to breed Hogg's with something else then that's OK too? Everyone is happy and we don't need to introduce dictatorial (not to mention unworkable) legislation.

Just my thoughts.
