Default Large Mice

Just had some 'Large' mice delivered... I had some 'Crawlers' in the bag too, didn't know what to expect with them, and when I pulled the first bag out, I though 'Well, they are a little bigger than I expected, but the BRB will soon grow...'.

Bugger me if it wasn't the bag of 'large' mice I was looking at! They are tiny! Thankfully the 'Crawlers' turned out as hoped.

Granted they were cheaper buying in bulk, but I'm gonna have to feed them to my corns 3 at a time at that size! Bit of false economy there.

bit of a problem buying blind.

Fortunately I have a shop round the corner so I just go in and pick them all individually. This way I can pick ones that gradually get bigger but only by millimeteres. This way I never actually have to big a jump in size at one time.

They're pretty cheap too;.

it amazes me how pet shops sell frozen mice and rats in such different sizes to eachother,i go to my local garden centre pet shop and she orders in what i need but i can still say no to it if wrong size so thats quite good!i recently got 25 small rats and 25 large mice for £40 dunno if that cheap but certainly cheaper than buying individually.

Thing is, large mice are about 80 - 90p in my local shop, so 25 for a tenner seemed good, about 40p each.

It is a good price, if they were the size I wanted, but no good if I now have to feed 2 or 3 at a time. The 25 crawlers for 5.25 are perfect, and therfore a bargain.

I'll probably just hold on to them until the BRB is big enough for them, and order in some Jumbos / Weaners for the corns. How long are they OK in the freezer?

SMALL mice for sale, 50p each, collection Orpington

Mouse size from various different retailers will always differ.. The amount of shops that I've gone in and had rats labelled as say weaner when they are probably closer to medium rats is untrue... they only true way is to go via weight!

< 50g
50-95g
95-125g
125-250g
250g >

These are the ranges of rat I use to gange size. I'll try get some pictures up soon of various different sizes compared to these weights.
