Default New paper - python nomenclature and taxonomy

Dear all, in accordance with the recommendation of the ICZN's rules for wide dissemination, I report on the recent publication of a paper tidying up the taxonomy of the pythons.
For most people here, the major elements are probably the confirmation of just two species of Leiopython (the brown (nth) leiopython albertisi and the black (sth) leiopython hoserae), which contradicts a paper published last year that lacked mtdna evidence as claimed in it's pre-amble, also claiming several new northern species.
Also of interest is the tidying up of the Green Pythons, to two species (north and sth New Guinea, as long recognised, but subject to confusion in terms of nomenclature), with two recognised subspecies (further), all previusly named long ago, bar a subspecies fropm Milne Bay Province PNG, and also the assignment of (old) valid names to the Scrub Pythons, which hasn't been fully done before, but also incorporates the work of Harvey et al. and names they assigned for hitherto unnamed taxa

I think the scientific community will treat this 'paper' with the derision that it deserves. On first glance, it seems like an extended personal attack on the author's critics, rather than any valid scientific research.

Worth reading in conjunction with this paper on Hoser. http://biology.bangor.ac.uk/~bss166/FWit/LittSerp.pdf

I've never read anything by Hoser...but I have heard of the guy and what I've heard isn't all that great. I don't think he's that well respected by his peers.
