I've got:

Matilda - female Carolina corn (named after my daughter's favourite film)
Sherman - unsexed Normal Royal Python (named after Col. Sherman Potter from M.A.S.H)
Pikachu - Male chinchilla (don't really need to explain the similarities on that one)
Scarface - Deceased Female Chinese Mantid (she was "my little friend")

I have
Nym and Mininym (prenounced nim) - Boas - Nym is the place in the story where the rats live...... and Mininym is a smaller version of big nym..
Moo and Cow - Crb's - I always called my male Moo as a nickname and needed a name for the female.... moocow went well together lol
Bowzer and Snarf - Brbs - Bowz was already named when I got her, and snarf suited him
Chunk - Boa - He has alot of scaring on his face
Sadsack - Bosc - Cause all she does is sleeps and eats
Prince - Royal - Cause he's royality
Alice - Boa - Named after Alice Cooper
Seven - Albino black rat - He was born on the 7/7/07 and hatchling number 7

Well, I'll take a deep breath and go through mine:

Corns (theme is Gems, Rocks and Minerals):

Jasper - 1.0 wildtype verging on okeetee-look - Jasper the stone is often red, orange or black.
Mica - 0.1 anerythristic - when I named her I was thinking about Biotite mica, which is glossy black or grey.
Zircon - 1.0 anerythristic - some Zircons are silvery grey with yellow like he is.
Calcite - 1.0 Coral Snow - I've seen wonderful pink-orange-white Mexican calcites.
Quartz - 1.0 Granite - Quartz crystal can be grey, but more importantly it's one of the two main constituents of Granite rock.
Feldspar - 0.1 Granite - Feldspar's the other main constituent
Kainite - 0.1 Lavender - Kainite can have purplish colours, but it's also because "Kain" was a vampire and rose from the dead; Kainite was originally a non-feeder who started out being called "Little Lavender If She Lives".
Padparadscha - 0.1 Hypo Bloodred - She's pinkish-orange, just like this variety of sapphire. Around the house she's just "Paddy".
Pyrite - 0.1 Caramel - Pyrite's a brassy-yellow metallic mineral and I've always liked it.
Arsenic - 0.1 Anery Stripe - she started off as a seriously stroppy cow, so I named her after a poisonous grey mineral.
Realgar - 1.0 Normal het Lava Caramel - He tried very sneakily to bite me when I bought him; realgar is an ore of poisonous mercury.
Scoria - 0.1 Normal het Amber Blood Motley - A reddish-brown mineral.
Houdini-Rutile - 1.0 Normal het ABM - Houdini because he escaped and we found him under our front door; Rutile is a golden to rusty brown mineral.
Selenite - 1.0 Blizzard - the mineral is a translucent, waxy white like his markings.
Heliodor - 0.1 Butter Motley - Bright yellow form of beryl

Other Ratsnakes:

Irwin - 1.0 Everglades Ratsnake - he was the first reptile we got after Steve Irwin's death; our Irwin is a real sweetie and makes a great snake ambassador.
Terri - 0.1 Albino Everglades - Well, this one should be obvious...
Cerastes - 1.0 Whitesided Texas Rat - The mythical Cerastes was a snake with no backbone that could strike in any direction. Although our Cerastes has not lived up to this - he's pretty tame!
Il Palazzo - 1.0 Japanese Rat X Corn - the name comes from the anime Excel Saga (Japanese animation, Japanese snake... it's logical!)
Fusion - 1.0 Radiated Ratsnake - We wanted a radiation theme, and Fusion certainly explodes if you pick him up...
Isotope - 1.0 Albino Radiated Rat - Again, theme; it was a toss-up between this and "Trinity" but we thought everyone would think "The Matrix" if we picked Trinity.
Kimchee - 0.1 Russian Rat - This name's no longer appropriate; we thought she was a Korean rat when we got her, so she was named after a Korean food. Maybe we should call her Kamchatka (a peninsula in Russia)?

Other Colubrids:
Cinnamon - 0.1 African House Snake - Cinnamon-coloured and a little spicy when she decides to try to nip you...
Sierra - 0.1 Albino Stripe Cali King - Named after a mountain range in California.
Orion - 1.0 Mexican Black King - he's got white speckles on his belly like stars, and at the time we were naming our geckos after individual stars; he gets to be a constellation.
Hoggle - 1.0 Western Hognose - His attitude is very much like the character in Labyrinth - particularly the scene in which the main character first meets Hoggle.
Marten - 1.0 Northern Pinesnake - He's our Pine, Marten.

I'll have to do the boids in a bit....
