Default Warmer weather! temp help

Hi

Seems like its finally getting warmer. Bit of a problem though, two of my vivs are near a bay window (backs of vivs facing the window) as the sun is brightly shining on the window at the moment, the temps in the vivs are too (the dimming stats have actually dimmed completely down.

Any ideas how i can stop the temp getting too high??

many thanks

Adam

Sunshine is mostly radiant heat so tinfoil might work. The easiest way to do this is to get some stuff that insulates behind radiators and tack it to the viv. It's foamy stuff with a sheet of foil on the outside. you get it at B&Q and similar. It'll help keep the viv warm in winter as well.

You really dont want vivs in direct sunlight - you obvisouly wont be able to control the heat. So i think you would either need to move the vivs or close the curtains while the sun is directly on them. In mid summer with direct sunlight all day you could end up with cooked snakes

Cheers, they wont be in direct light for much longer, they are on top of a desk which puts them in direct sunlight, new vivs are being built soon and the desk will be gone so they will be under the bay window area and not actually in the window
