Two, three times a month and handle them for as long as it takes to get a few photos and health check.

Once every couple of days. Our Royal's only young, so I'd rather make sure she was used to being handled sooner rather than later. I only handle her for a couple of minutes, until she gets bored or starts to feel cold away from her heat mat. Sometimes she's a bit irritated with me holding her so the time is even shorter!

Edit: Also, I only handle her at least two days after she's eaten and 'been'.

Depends om which snake.
with my royal every month or so for about 5/10min
my carpets every other day due to the fact they both stare out there viv's all the time and love to climb around the room once out,
my boa's once or twice a week for about 10 mins just so they don't feel left out.

i only really get them out so i can do a viv check if i get the royal out too much he refuses to eat.

I handle mine about 3 times a week, only for about 5 mins each. If their in their hides I leave em alone but when they come out to explore and as long as they`ve not recently fed I get em out for a little tickle!!
