how old is a female ready to breed (boa)

hi i have a pos het albino boa constrictor. female. shes aprox 1.5 foot i think roughly 3 quarters horizontaly across a double bed. got her in jan 09 and she was born 08. so think she 4/6 months old.

this is my 1st snake and im not clued up at all just get advice from the net/youtube/girlfriend and friends but im interested to get a male boa and see if they breed.

ive heard about seasons when the females go on heat but dont know when they usually go on heat ill find out when ill hold her and see if my g/f's male python bites me lol.

plus how old should she be and at what size is good to introduce them?

i read a post where it said u should not put boas and pythons in same room but ours is in same room with the vive at least 2 foot away and they havent had any probs.

only that when i got her she didnt strike. so i left the food on floor in viv and she eat them. i got her to strike twice in the 3 months ish i got her. had her out on bed but my g/f got her hampster out and i didnt notice and she strike and constricted around it. she was so fast i couldnt do anything. managed to get her to release the grip and got boa back in her viv. remarkably the hampster was fine. i was wondering if the pet store fed her live food.

we got 2 othedr snakes from the same store but the python has no prob striking the cali king snake dont strike as its scatty and like attacking so we just leave the food on floor .

breeding age for female boas is generally recommended minimum 3 years old, but 4 years old is preferable.
